Re: Vonage suspends my account

genobkk36, what we need are people who can take care of themselves without having to get big brother government to swoop in and do it for them. Getting the government involved is like killing a fly with a shotgun. It will cripple VoIP. If someone has a problem with a company's policy, then they need to leave and find another company that they can be happy with. Also talking to customer service helps. Instead of running out and suing, slandering, or regulating to death, people need to grow up and leave the government out of this.

I'm not flaming you, in that I'm not implying that you need to grow up. I don't know you. But, government involvement in VoIP is not the answer.

I expext serivce and to be treatede with reaspencted...running your credit card on Friday, and bocking your outbound calls on that same day is NOT right. I was paid up, no international calls, no 411 calls, only my 2 vonage liens!!!! If I had been even a few weeks late I wold understand, but to do this the same day is crzzay and should NOT be legal!!!!

instida of blameing me, blame the compaly, they are hte one that are doing these thigns that iwll force the goverment and the states to regulagte them. NOT me

I agree with you that cutting your service the same day is pretty sucky. However, we do not know Vonage's side of the situation. They could have sent notices prior to this one but were blocked by your ISP for some reason. I had this happen to me in that my dad sent me an email and I NEVER got it. I have no idea where it went.

It could have been that Vonage's system incorrectly processed your account. Some mistake could have been made. I don't believe it is their policy to cut you off the day your service goes unpaid.

I got a notice from Packet8 a while ago about them not being able to process my payment. I had it set up to pull from my Paypal account but I let it run empty. I switched to a different card and everything went smoothly. Like I said, I don't think it is their intentional policy to cut off service for one missed payment the day it was attempted to be processed.

But even if it is, that's their right whether we like it or not. As a business owner, I have the right to run my business the way I see fit, as long as I don't steal from people or misrepresent myself. I can charge what I need to and suspend services anytime the bill goes unpaid. There is no golden rule that states that people need a month of non-payment before services can be suspended.

I was going to make a non- flaming constructively critical remark about people who have this view that all companies are evil and that the government needs to be involved in support of Sly and hsindogg but since one of you guys was called a dumb butt, I can't imagine the bald comments that might emanate from the "Vonagee" especially since my avatar kind of looks like me.....
In this instance, "Silence is Golden" (and if you don't update your credit card - silence is all you'll hear when you go off hook.....)ooooo - couldn't resist that analogy.

Maybe you should learn to spell check, too. Your writing is pathetic.
