Re: [Vonage] Vonage + website down

My service has been off/on. I finally was able to log into the dashboard. They have this message on the right hand side, "Customers may experience problems when placing calls due to a network event. Our Engineers are aware of the issue and currently working to resolve it as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience in this matter."

I'm using a 210 number.

I have dial tone in 941, but all outgoing calls meet with a fast busy signal, and all incoming calls are dropped after the first ring, whether I pick up or not.

It's definately a network issue somewhere. Not sure if it's on Vonage, or out on the iNet.

Call your local voicemail number from a POTS line and see how garbled it is. Definately a network slowdown issue.

Ah, the joys of being an early adopter.

This sort of problem is to be expected on such a new system. To me, the cost savings and feature advantages justify the occasional inconvenience.

I agree Fat Guy to a point, but again, this is the 3rd MAJOR outage for, 2nd in the past 2 months.

Can't justify a thing with no ability to call.

Re: [Vonage] Vonage + website down

Down in 678 (Atlanta, GA) too. I can login to the website but when I try to make outgoing calls there is silence for about 10 seconds and then a busy signal. I called the voicemail access number from my cell phone (no POTS) like techguyga said and it was extremely garbled. Also tried rebooting the MTA (Moto VT1005V) but no dice.

Getting a fast busy with Vonage here in the Atlanta 770 area code.

Thankfully, my 2nd line thru BroadVoice, is picking up Vonages slack.

No dial tones in 847 and no web site access (everybody else is accessable)...

I am a new VONAGE customer (last Friday, July 30th). Is this usual?

In the last few days, I have noticed the website being down more than once and at other times very slow, echo issues (even after the Service Notice disappeared from website), and now a fast busy on dial out from area code 253.

It sure makes the old phone system look very good.

Is this a DoS issue?

Down in 203, no website. Incoming calls are NOT being forwarded to my POTS line as they are supposed to be - just get ring-no-answer.

To those that have asked...no this is not a normal thing.

And from the posts that I've seen so far, this is looking like an issue in their NOC. With their website down, folks not getting the 800 number (you know it's VoIP, right?), no dial tones, and calls not going to the network availibility number, it's surely a problem at their NOC.

Hey, Vonage techs, make sure the cleaning crew didn't borrow a router's power outlet to plug up the old floor buffer!!!

LOL!!!

I agree with the previous poster. While this is annoying it's not normal. I am with Vonage for almost 2 years and I can count the outages I had on one hand (including very short ones). There was a 1 day outage shortly after I signed up - and everyone got a $5 credit automatically (imagine that with your ILEC)... The one today is truly annoying because it's lasting a long time - but I am hopefull it will be resolved shortly.

Bryanboy, I would argue she may not be up, I'm also in 214/972 (Texas) and we are down, have been for a while. However, I can call other Vonage users fine, including my vanity number w/ IL area code.
