| Download speed Louisville very slow
Anyone else experiencing slow download speeds in Louisville, Ky? It started last night. I went to DSL reports and ran all three tests listed. Most I got was 1085 down. I also did a search and found and ran many other download tests, same results. After an hour on hold with Insight they say my connection is just fine because they could "ping" me and got whatever results they were looking for. Nothing has changed on my end as far as adding software etc. What can I do about this other than switch to DSL, which I will look into today? WinXP, Motorola SB 5100 |

1 edit | I've been experiencing a similar problem for about a week now. I've checked the modem config and it's still configured for 3Mbps, but I'm only getting around half of that no matter what I try. I've tried multiple tests, tested from all three of my computers, and even bypassed my router, but to no avail. I only hope that it's temporary and maybe they're doing some upgrading, because I'm not happy at all . Oh yeah, I'm located in Evansville, Indiana, so it's seemingly not a Louisville specific issue. |

| It's been on and off for the last several days as I said my neighbor has also called Insight. I know how to do a tracert, how do I do a ping, same way from the C:? and how do I upload to yahoo.com? What should I ping, mail, newsgroups, or Insight? Sorry kind of dumb in this stuff |

| If you have a lot of people on your node with Insight then your service will be slower than advertised. Everyone I know with Insight cant get nowhere near 3.0 b/c so many on that node. -- Thank you you BellSouth for putting me in DS-hell |

| It has nothing to with the node in this case. Insight actually is very good about keep node users limited. We've discussed this in the past. Why users are now seeing 2700 in speed test instead of 3000 or above. Is do to a change made within DOCSIS. If you do an actual download in real time. Most users will see there actual download speeds aren't slower. -- Test Your Security Benefit for Children's Oncology Group Cable Modem Diagnostics |
