Pirelli is our main supplier of fiber for the FTTP project. Talk to the techs installing it and they will definetly be able to tell you if its for FTTP or not. The garage where i work is our supply hub for the FTTP in montgomery county and we have spools of wire, terminals, fiber hubs, and splice cases as far as you can see.I'll take some pictures and post them for you tomorrow. |

| splicer2 -- any idea if/when they're doing FTTP in Olney, MD in Montgomery County, MD? It's north of Silver Spring near Georgia Ave and Rt 108, the CO's known as Oakdale, I think, OLNEYMDOK in the CO finder on Broadbandreports. |

| I'll see what I can find. By the way,in some areas fiber is being lashed to existing copper lines. This is done for cost saving purposes. it really doesnt matter at this time,as more people switch over to the fiber and the copper is abandoned it can then be removed as needed. its not that big of a deal. |

1 edit | Thats just what Verizon is doing on the tail end of the install in Northern Bergen County.Fiber supported by copper.Since the install began in early February they used aerial figure 8 conduit....untill now.I still see trucks with conduit in my travels but there are other crews installing without. |
