No, you don't understand.

Virus = Illegal because it's a PITA that costs people time and money and especially because it costs corporations money, all for the noteriety of the virus author.

StarForce = Perfectly legal because it makes money for corporations while being a PITA that costs everyone else time and money.

Therefore, to put it simply:

Corporations interests but anti-consumers and citizens = Pefectly Legal

Consumer and Citizens Interests but annoys Corporations = Illegal, terrorist act...

... Thanks to the US Congress, the finest Government money can buy.

I'm sure they burried it deep in the EULA, like they always do, because they know no one reads it. Boycott any game using this.

This is a very fair reply. ))

@t-dialin.net

  Fair reply?
It is fair get money from people and destroy there computers because THEY HAVE paid for it?
Sure, that make sense to me. Real.
I agree to the comment of the guy who said, that this people are EXACTLY the same like virus coder. ...oh! The big different is, the virus coder prevent the users to pay for there software.
That's it!! We should instruct and inform the virus community to implement a shareware nag and request money.
See it in this way, a virus or a worm is nothing less than a nice online game where nobody has paid for it. And the reason why it has a big deep impact to the systems was the missing shareware nag or EULA. ...at this point I'm wondering regarding our last worm. There was a nag message that the system will shut down within 60 sec. Ohhh! Sure! There was no impressum implemented and no information where the user should send the money to.
Damn!! ...always the little things kills yourself - like AlCapone...
Hey Mr. Copylover - which Matrix you belong to?? Be sure, it's the wrong one!!!

Within the next few weeks I'll become 35years old and I'm realy pissed of about things like that. I have other things to do than reinstalling the computers for my kids.
Years ago I was one of the bad guys who break the things they made. But now - 6years later and in silent remember to PC (!) it will be time to download a debugger again, install the good old MASM compiler and fight back against shit like StarForce & Co.

Copylover - you should believe me, that is not a way to prevent copy piracy.
I still have a collection of nearly 80 original games - I've downloaded it, tested it and - hey, if they was O.K why not supporting the developers?
It was not a question to give them the money, it is a question of did they "earn" the money. It's a question of honour - is it a game or is it compiled shit with colored grafic...
Each side has his own black sheep. Your side also like our side - but StarForce & Co. are reasons to fight against things like that.
And regarding the "big money" they loos in cause of the piracy? On the one hand they are talking about 800 Billion $ (!) - on the other hand it is the best joke what is ever released within the internet. How will they now explain the big loos of money? Again in cause of the piracy? Even when the protection becomes better and better? WoW! ...I expect the next big bang joke about the big money loos!! They will be surprised how many games they sell in real & facts.
That will be real interesting who will be responsible for that bad finance forecasts. ...hmm. Hackers? Sure! Crackers? The same! Piracy Users? Absolute! And the rest?? Imported aliens? Galaxy Rangers who fight against legal software? - That's a real good idea!!!
And what's about the "bad software" (I call that native compiled shit) or the company himself? NEVER! Because they are the good guys. They are holy in right and law. Even when they detroy a computer system.
UPS!...bad exeptions! Sorry! The user is responsible by law for a backup and the rest is not our debt!!
They are talking only about f***ing users - they should pay for crap (or system failouts) and shut up!!!

DTM Racer 2 was the last game I've bought with that protection. NEVER AGAIN a game like that. At least that time until I can have a crack for it. And why the hell I should buy original games? To be stupid proud to have a disk killer virus with at least 3.2 GB?? S0kill.exe is for free and legal download able within the internet. And - that works much more better. Ok, it is not multicolored and I can't shoot somebody or drive around the screen. But it's same effective and 1000times smaler than a game with protection like that!!

Anyway...
And always remember:
It's not a question of "if..." - it's only a question of time!
Copy protections in that way - NO WAY! (...btw, thanks for the list who's supporting that CopyProtection$hit)

We make the things that break the things you made!
...and we are still living ...

Kindly regards and be prepaired for the deep impact...

Me!
