Preach it brotha! I live in Mount Prospect, an incredibly dense residential area 10 miles from O'Hare and I am 19,000 ft from my CO. That's just messed up.

Amen! I'm in Worth (south suburbs), and across the street you can get 1.5+ dsl and comcast but 100' away I am mysteriously connected to a gigantic ball of buried copper that spits out ranges of 22k' to 44k'. Comcast is blocked from servicing this little spot for other reasons, but still. Horrible I tell ya, horrible. When Chicagoland has 99.9% connectivity then I'll pat them on the back. Til then..

Agreed. That's like Verizon wiring all of Jersey City and skipping New York City. They better do something around me, the CO's are too far and overloaded.

I signed up with SBC Yahoo DSL *but only signed up for static IPs*. and when my loop keeps changing. SO you're 100' away may not be right. I know i started at 9,500' and now i'm up to 18,500' plus feet

Luckly i have SBC Business DSL at home for Static IPs so I get one rep to re work my order.
