and its a good one, for the first time ever.
At one time, SBC was allowing this in my area years ago. The window was very small and you had to have POTS service to set it up initially. Also, my buddy in Texas got his service about 2 years ago.. same deal, he was able to cancel his POTS and keep the ADSL. |

1 edit | ..and "Ahnold" as "The Gov"!!. Life IS good in "The Golden State". Now..let's bring back Pacific Telephone and Telegraph(PacTel). Heck, We've got the 6th largest G.N.P. on this planet..and we need SBC? As far as I'm concerned, CA should have it's own phone system. Someth'in is very wrong here, folks. |

| Hmmm... don't get too excited. California does set itself apart, but it's not always so great. We pay for these things. California's overall tax rate (state income tax, local taxes, sales taxes, utility taxes, and property & car taxes) is one of the highest in the country. For example, it costs base fees + 3% of the value of your car to register it here anually (that's $500 a year for me, plus the smog check). People in some other states would be floored at that: in Florida it's like $50... and there's no income tax.
And speaking of privacy, California cares about its citizens privacy almost as much as it cares about the entertainment industry: »www.technewsworld.com/story/33174.html |
