It's 'final' enough for me. A hell of a lot better than IE! -- Join Team Discovery today!|12.5 Ghz of Crunching Power. |

| reply to Fedorov Yea, it runs great - some of you may find this new Extension VERY useful... »forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=81790
So you can still install many of your "old" extensions yet still see them in the new ExtensionManager window
Many of us use the AdBlock extension so here is a working version for Firefox 0.9... »aasted.org/adblock/viewtopic.php?t=457

1 edit | reply to Fedorov I'm not having much luck with this one. The installer comes up with V 0.8 labelling. I've tried three different installs now with the same effect: once from the link in the original post, once from teh "download" link on the mozilla website, and once from the link on Majorgeeks.com. Once installed the help menu "about" shows V 0.8+. Then I can't get the new Firefox to connect to the internet if Norton Internet Security is enabled.
Anybody else getting any of this? |

| reply to Fedorov I think you'll find that it *should* still say 0.8+ - will probably say 0.9 when it's released next week.
Not got a clue about your Norton problem but I suggest you have a search over on their forums... »forums.mozillazine.org

I have an insider tip that the 1.0 release is going to be called "FlameLlama." -- Jimmysquid.com - I take pictures. |

| It didn't take that long to update.
I was a little confused when i installed it.
I don't see any major changes in this RC release. |

| Do you know if there is a way to remove the extra "padding" on the top and bottom of the buttons. You can see what I am talking about here:
 Bleh
If you aren't able to remove that extra space, then that would get real annoying for me. I know it's barely anything... but would still annoy me

| reply to Fedorov I had some problems with 0.9 today. It seems really slow on my system and saw quite a few bugs when loading pages and arranging my toolbars. (plus of course lots of 0.8 extensions don't work w/ it)
I went ahead and moved back to 0.8 until the final release comes out. (I think they are guessing next Monday) |

| reply to Joey Well, you can try the Adirondack theme Here It's the first one in the list. The other ones aren't fixed for the new .9 browser yet, as they don't work for me. But it's pretty good looking large or small. -- --Make those unused CPU Cycles COUNT! Join Team Helix! --Operators are standing by to tell you how! |

| reply to Fedorov is this thread about Firefox or Mozilla? Mozilla has an official release coming very soon also. I thought this thread was about it, but then I am reading about Firefox.
I just want to know in Firefox 0.9 does the front end spell checker 0.3.5 work? If not, then I will not be upgrading either Firefox or Mozilla as the Spellchecker (along with TBE) are the only extensions I need and I must have the Spellchecker. It was not easy getting it to work with 0.8 Firefox. -- "Everything can be taken from a man or woman but one thing: the last of the human freedoms - to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's destiny." I noticed that also.
Lots of little things have been changed that I noticed.
1) When you click on a bookmark folder thats below the address bar you can move to another bookmark folder and it opens without you having to click on it. Firefox .8 didn't do that and it would drive me nuts.
2) maybe it's just me but the new bookmark button you can add to the toolbar is really neat and the best part is you can search the bookmarks really easily and it works well.
3) Lastly adding search engines to the searchbar seems to work a lot better now.
Kudos to the Firefox coding team! |
