| 4.11.3 Firmware released
Netopia's web site now mentions 4.11.3 firmware - but no release notes - so it looks pretty fresh. Those doing TFTP loads should fetch nir4113.bin (instructions here). Presumably docs will follow soon.

I've loaded it, and Ping Plotter for a coupla hours shows a little loss of memory, but not sure it's the memory leak. We'll see.

| I've been running Ping Plotter overnight with one-second pings, and at this point am reasonably confident that the memory leak is no longer with us. Thank you Netopia.
I wouldn't mind seeing some release notes to see what else is changed, but this is a minor matter now. I'll report back in a few days for the wise among you who don't care to be the first on your block with new firmware - I know that TivoNut  is holding off a while on upgrading his routers.

| This is for all R-series router, including presumably the R7200. If you're happy with what you have, then you may not need to upgrade, but some of us either require specific features/bugfixes of the newer releases, or we simply like to live on the bleeding edge.
As always, upgrade at your own risk.

| Just wondering to what models this applied, and noticed this forum is deadly quiet, so wanted to add to your thread  I don't like to upgrade if I don't need to. But there are occasions in the past where I'd have to reboot the router to re-establish the connection, but only like every couple months...
Don't think I'll worry about it.

I see that the Latest Firmware page at Netopia.com now shows only 4.11 - perhaps I've jumped the gun here.

I noticed the word convad I just purchased a netopia 7200 convad issue, I cannot get it work with my sdsl service, is there something you might be able to tell me, to get this "door stop" to function. My isp uses Verizon lines, I am not certain of the DSLAM type, or does this make a difference. Any advice is better than none.

| Yeah, the DSLAM makes a difference. I dunno a lot about this stuff, but the basics I think:
There are a couple manufacturers of DSLAMS and DSL routers. Not all are compatible with the others. The Netopia router you have should work fine - with any DSLAM which is compatible with it. What those are, I have no idea. You should call VZ and see what routers it says are compatible with its service.

OK, so 4.11.3 is now back on the Netopia web site, though I don't see any release notes yet. I suspect that this is just a bug-fix release, but I've been running this since it came out with no apparent problems.

I have a Netopia 9100 router and have upgraded to the latest firmware. Seems to be much better than the previous firmware version. No more mysterious 1039% CPU load errors. Guess that fixed it! |

@pacbell.n | I have 4.11.3 on my 9100 and I just happened to note a 2430% CPU load. The router has only been up less than 30 days on a very inactive line.

| I've also been running that release of the firmware. The CPU% glitch, IMO, is just a cosmetic bug. I've gone back out of Quick View and back in and most of the time the CPU% shows up normal again.
If the processor was truly being that heavily taxed, I doubt you could even log into the router to see the Quick View page, even through the Console Port. |
