| (XP) MSN Video (Beta) player problem
When trying to watch/play a video The MSN Video (Beta) player problem I have is that I cannot play any videos, directly or when I try to add to the play list, when the play list is viewed, there is a red X next to the video. The player control buttons is grayed out, non-functional when clicked. My PC system is running XP, I have pop-up stopper free edition by panicware (dis-able), Norton's anti-virus/firewall 2003 and The Cleaner anti-trojan installed. Any helpful suggestions will be greatly appreciated! |

| Do you have all of the requirements? Did you add »betavideo.my.msn.com/video/ to the allow list in Pop-Up Guard? Are you using a HOSTS file?
I had no problems playing any of the video available. -- Keep it pithy, if you wish to opine. |

| I uninstalled the pop-up stopper from panicware, disabled the Norton antivirus and firewall 2003 with no help. I tried the help file with MSN video beta player, my system exceeds the requirements and active scripting enable. Could you explain a HOSTS file to me? Thanks |

I'm having the exact same problems. Turning off my pop blocker, and firewall had no effect either. My guess is no more free content from MSN very soon. You'll have to subscribe to their "service" like AOL makes you do to use anything on their site. |

| reply to galileo757 I have found out it's a conflict with Norton's in my case. If I disable NIS 2004 completely the videos will play fine, but if I disable the pop-up blocker, or firewall individually it doesn't help. I have tried putting in the URLs in the pop up blocker as suggested above with no success either. Can anyone think of a work around for this without totally disabling my security? |
