| reply to Bluetank Your RWin is a little high, change it to a value suggested in the tweak test >> when entering the speed of your connection enter the value in kb, so you would enter 512 >> since you are using a test site on the other side of the world from you those speeds are prolly correct >> try a site closer to you >> there is a link at the top of the main tweaks page that has a listing of many other tests worldwide. -- Everything is relative and subjective. |
|
 | reply to Bluetank I did try, but i can't find the link for the speed test in other countries... because i didn't know how to read their languages... >_
Any suggestions on it? I'm from Singapore... |

Is most of your internet surfing, etc., from US sites or Singapore?
You said you get "average download: 53kb/s". Is this bits or bytes? |

8 bits = 1 byte. So if the "53kb/s" is actually "bytes", that would be "424 kilobits/sec", which would be about right for the speed you quoted (512). What is the URL of the speed site in Singapore that you are using?
Where are the game servers you're trying to use? Remember, the internet runs at something less than "light speed" (186 miles/ms) and it takes about 190 ms just to get from the west coast of the US to Singapore. It you are playing US or European servers, you could easily have 300-400 ms ping times. |
|
 | reply to Bluetank I'm normally playing at sites on my own country, and sometimes the ping reaches to 100+..... |
|
 | reply to Bluetank I'm also from Singapore and my ISP is Magix, ie with a static address instead of your dial-up connection. I find that my best RWin is 37960 instead of the recommended 5040-13140. I just did a test using Linkline: the result is 1219 kbps download and 385 kbps upload. |
