There is no install.exe in the windows directory that is part of windows XP as far as I know. What exactly is the error you get and does it happen with all software installations?

anon : I'm missing the file install.exe in the windows directory. Because of this, I am unable to install software on my computer (Getting an error referencing ikernel.dll). Is the any way to recover the file from my XP cd or would it be better to get the file somewhere online?
