Theoretically yes..try a repair installation first.

I suggest backing up data files first if at all possible.

Does W2K have a last Known good option on boot using F8?

If windows gives you a headace, reinstall.

Go to start...run and type cmd then... type sfc /scannow..with the space.

It may ask for your CD..it depends on what service packs have been installed.

He have win2k and when he tried to boot up, his comp would hang at the win2k screen. i tried to fix his comp but im in the process of giving up. I went into safe mode and look at the crack. He wanted to crack a prog name microangelo, i believed is like an icon proggy. On the crack there is a restore button which I hit and to my surprise i see that it modify muangsys.dll. i went into his system32 folder and search for that dll but it wasn't there. i think the crack erase his muangsys. I believed it erase some other files as well which cause his computer to boot uncorrectly. if there a way i can go into that crack and see what exactly it does than maybe i can try to figure out what wrong. right now i am completely hopeless. plz help. thank.
