anon : The comment that Atlantic Broadband is part of or a subsidiary of Comcast is absolutely false. Atlantic Broadband is headed by two long time cable executives who were employed by Continental Cablevision, which was acquired by USWEST (MediaOne), which was aquired by AT&T Broadband, which was acquired by Comcast. These executives have not been involved with this series of companies for years. The major funding for Atlantic Broadband comes from a Boston based venture capital firm called ABRY Partners. There is no connection to Comcast whatsoever. Could Atlantic Broadband be sold to Comcast in the future? Sure, so could anything...

AAFS : Rob -- The way I understand it is that Atlantic Broadband is actually a holding company / subsidiary of......COMCAST! That's right. Being a little inside the loop in PA, it looks like the move for AB and Comcast is to buy the Altoona/Johnstown Systems and then perhaps take care of Adelphia in this area so most of PA would be......COMCAST. Solid info for the subsidiary thing being Comcast, pure speculation on the Adelphia thought.

As was said it will be quite awhile till a change is seen. I'm more worried about the interactive digital t.v. part than the broadband. Here in Fla it's a nice package that works well.
ITGuy72 : Interesting. I think what a lot of people don't realize is that when these system sales take place it is often to holdings companies, and the actual migration/transitions can take months if not years to complete. That said, I doubt any major changes will be coming in these markets in the near future. I may be wrong, but I've seen one or two of these transactions before.
