There's a reason for that. That's the port where this week's virii come through. Port 139 was blocked to mitigate the spread of the mess.

That website has links to other websites that can do tcp/udp and various other scans to show you want is open on your connection. If you truly want to verify your local connection, leave a port open, then make a TCP / UDP connection attempt to verify connectivity. Another utility that can be used is a form of traceroute that uses TCP packets instead of ICMP....

I would assume so. These virii are well written, and spread like mad. I too game, and have noticed lag increasing as the days go by. Like others have said recently (in the past couple days), Adelphia's network and systems are getting flooded by pings and requests. It is a good thing in my opinion that they are doing this. In the end it will help stabilize the network.
