cali310 : Just wait til it's fixed (if it ever is) then demand your refund for the days it was out. There's no way you should have to debate over a refund. If they're not providing the service you're paying for than there's no way in hell they can charge you for it.

I've been calling them every day since the problem started (Sunday the 17th around 1PM) to try to find out what the problem is and when it will be fixed. The first 4 days they were saying it was the worm and the last 6 a gateway is screwing up.

I find it ridiculous for it to have been 10 days and they can't even give an ETA of when it will be fixed. I'll stick it out for a while longer and hopefully they'll get it back the way it should be soon.

With DSL prices being so low lately you'd think they'd be a little more on the ball about taking care of problems quickly. Especially in our area where they're nowhere near the only game in town.

anon : Just got off the phone again. Customer service insisted that outage didn't occur until the 21st. I totally disagreed and was upset, because the internet was down since early on the 18th. At least it is a little better now, but doing day to day activities, such as surfing the web, is a painful experience. Anyway, debated with the CSR and they ended up refunded part of my bill since the 18th, after 15 mins of discussion. I was also instructed to call on a daily basis for a refund of that days proration. If I did my math correctly, and the wait times are as long as they are normally, then it would probably be a waste of time to call on a daily basis to refund that days' bill.

According to the CSR, there is still no ETA for connection correction. As for my personal belief, I doubt the ontario area problem has anything to do with a new router being installed, but am more inclined to believe that it has to do with over inflated requests from BlasterWorm infected machines.

anon : Here's the info I got.

There is a trouble ticket associated with this problem on the ontario, CAlifornia adelphia network. If you live there, be sure to call the local office and request that they open up a trouble ticket for you. Make SURE that the ticket reads as such that you were being affected by this problem since August 18th. That's when the associated problem, and documentation first appeared for the upland, ontario area. After you get the ticket, keep the number of the ticket. When the problem is resolved, call the local office again, and ask that they refund your money for the time it was down. They will reimburse you for the days that you were affected.

As for the previous post, it does appear that users on this network who have not updated their systems, are sending out massive amounts of traffic because their systems are affected, thus causing us all to suffer.

Other than this problem, I have never had a problem with adelphia, and I am loving my 3Mb down/256Kb up

If it will ever be restored to it's full glory, then I'll continue service. It would take a serious life tragedy to get me to change back to horrible dsl services.

Here is some contact info:
1500 Auto Center Drive
Ontario, CA
909-481-1115
MOndays 9am - 6pm
Tus sat 9am - 5pm
