You can map either a search drive or plain network drive. I beleive you can assign a drive letter to a plain drive, but not to a search drive. The search drive will be mapped according to what drive letters are unused on the workstation although there are ways to force a search drive letter. The command would be MAP K:=%FILE_SERVER\SYS:USERS\%LOGIN_NAME Notice the use of variables, you can give to a bunch of users the same script and user alex will get a mapping pointing to k:\users\alex and sam will get k:\users\sam. The %fileserver variable also can do this, depending on which server the users login to the network. Search drives are used just like a folder you would place in the dos path directory. Like PATH=c:\windows\command MAP s16:=sys:public. It puts the network drive in the dos path. A plain network mapping is good enough to access your files etc...

This script only maps to the root of volume but I want to map directly to the users directory.

You can also search Novell's knowledgebase at »support.novell.com/search/kb_index.jsp I also highly recommend getting a book. It will make it alot easier to have the facts/answers in front of you rather than always searching for them.

Get yourself a book which will help alot. Look for a CNA (certified novell administrator) book which is novell's entry-level certificate. My server at home has 320 megs (looking for a cheap stick of 512 pc133 if anyone wants to sell :-)) and my available memory floats anywhere from 20-35% free, so the server chokes at times. This is default installation plus routing, dns, dhcp, ndps printing and timesync loaded so it swaps to disk and slows down when a few people hit it all at once with file requests. Netware isn't a processor intensive OS but it loves memory.

Nah thats are "dialer server". This server keeps records of all calls made by our staff and maintains their telephone accounts. Its win2k pro and works in conjunction with our PBX. Our netware (version 5.1) servers are in pic P0000504.jpg That old PC next to the 2 Netware servers is our HVAC server...it talks to the thermostats and from this we set the temperature and zones.

So far so good...it does NAT for our entire office. The real test is when we start hanging servers off the DMZ port and applying more rigid filtering policies. It also has the capability to deny/permit certain users internet/DMZ access based on their NT/2000 or LDAP group membership.

Front mounted LCD alphanumeric display which shows error messages and codes and illuminates different colors to indicate system status. P0000400.jpg - New rack layout. We de-commissioned our stackable Intel switches and moved to a chassis Alcatel 7800 OmniSwitch. That rackmount Smart-UPS at the bottom of the rack powers the 4 switches, firebox and 2 routers...the alcatel gets its own UPS.

P0000401.jpg - Cisco eat this :D Those 4 2 slot gigabit cards will be replaced with 12-port high density cards soon

P0000402.jpg - Other half of our rack, 2 Cisco 1700 routers, WatchGuard Firebox, Cisco 3550 switch, Netgear gigabit, and 2 of our old Intels (for testing/backup purposes)
