They're choosing whomever will sell them a service at a low enough price. Verizon is big enough to not give a rats ass about MVNO/reseller deals.

You think Verizon would sell access to its network at low enough rates to allow for that kind of plan? Over its dead, cold body.

For areas where Sprint works well/well enough (a fair chunk of the US...Sprint has more coverage than T-Mobile, for example), this plan is a good thing, though I won't be getting it since I already have a Sprint phone that can tether.

Go a few miles away like some friends of mine live where cable doesn't exist and TDS or at&t doesn't think DSL is worth deploying.
