It all about the pixels.
Oh and it costs less. Oh and its quadcore.
Just think about this: If it was anything else besides iOS & Apple you would have reviewers saying these specs blow, especially for the price. |

Wilmington, DE | Main reason for the resolution is no doubt so existing apps will work on day 1 as it's the same resolution as the iPad 1 and 2. I'm sure the 2nd or 3rd gen will introduce retina displays to it. |

No way? Really? You mean to tell me they're gonna release the same tablet again, with "new" 1 year old technology, and give it a premium price? Whoda thunk it!
Seriously, the 32GB iPad mini (the "mini" is for miniature specs) is priced $180 higher than the 32GB Nexus 7 and it has inferior hardware. |

Note: The Nexus 7 comes in 8GB and 16GB versions. There is no 32GB version. |

The nexus 7 32 gig is being announced friday. before you say well its not released yet neither is the mini. Non lte min is next week and lte mini 2 weeks after that.
people have been able to buy the updated nexus 7 already at some staples stores. |

Apple has themselves in a bit of a pickle here with the price. The simple fact is they can't be competitive (even though manufacturing costs are such that the could) because they can't price it lower than the iPod Touch which is what they'd have to do! Just like the iPad is a giant iPod Touch, the iPad Mini is a big iPod Touch. |
