Camden, TN | Say good-bye to unlimited Which actually in the long run is a good thing. If Sprint really wants to change the game they'd offer say 10 GB or more for $30. Then people can compare what they get for their $30 or compare to what 10 GB cost with at&t and Verizon. And before someone chimes in with "Unlimited is more than 10 GB" yes but it's one of those things that's hard for people to quantify and no one actually believes you get unlimited with Sprint anyways. Unlimited is also a word mobile carrier tend to monkey around with. 10 GB is an actual number one can make a comparison with or 20 GB or whatever they want to have as a cap. There's no monkeying around with 10 GB. 10 GB is 10 GB. Unlimited is whatever Sprint feels like it is. |

Oklahoma City, OK | Softbank Actually has unlimited data in Japan so I wouldn't be too quick to believe its going anywhere. Sprint does not have the leverage to get rid of unlimited data yet. If an end does come it will be many years down the line. |

Once Sprint gets enough people on LTE they'll see what unlimited will do to a network. |

What will be even more interesting will be the response from AT&T and Verizon on this. They seem to be silent so far. |

Any threat Sprint might pose because of this deal is years away. You are correct. They don't need to respond yet but I will be getting a big bag of popcorn to watch this unfold. It will be pretty exciting.
I imagine the response will probably be from AT&T and T-Mobile once and if they gain regulatory approval. |

This seems like the more logical possibility. This. The 'Sprint will get rid of unlimited eventually' may be true but for the most part is FUD. They will be continually adding capacity as they go with 800Mhz and then likely Clear spectrum as needed. Yeah, it may happen someday (probably throttling heaviest users first) but Sprint will delay as long as they can as unlimited is their only leverage. Unlimited will likely be around for years. |
