Re: yeah......... so?

Easy answer: with more spectrum (the big deal with this merger), T-Mobile can deploy more LTE in more places (they have skimpy AWS and PCS allotments in some areas). Prices won't decrease...T-Mobile is already at the bottom of the pack as far as that goes...but you'll get a better network for the same price.

If you're looking for cheaper wireless service, stop looking at the Big Four's contract plans and pick up a Straight Talk SIM. They won't whine/cut off your account unless you're using more than a few GB per month in data, and $45 per month gets you unlimited everything (with the data asterisk of a few-GB soft cap) on Sprint, AT&T or T-Mobile (Sprint phones are prefer; AT&T and T-Mobile have SIM kits available).

I switched to Straight Talk from Verizon to save money. Crappy service, dropped calls, dropped data connection, no service at home.

I switched back to Verizon and couldn't be happier.

You must have picked a phone on a network that doesn't work well at your location. Could have been any of the three other networks...
