Re: Is FiOS an ISP? Doesn't matter as these speed tests are off network. We aren't testing connection speed only within last mile. And DSL is more like barely hitting 600kbps-1200kbps unless they live next to an RT or the CO. Welcome to Verizon.
Meanwhile the OOKLA (Speedtest.net) test results are what they are and are mirrored by DSLReports own smaller sample. Verizon's average is just over 5Mb and while they have faster tiers, so does everyone else.
Low end tiers from EVERY provider bring down their own averages. I have 50Mb service but the samples from budget tiers bring down the average. |
