 | I wonder what the ifanboys would say... If Apple went into the tv or car business, got some patents, and then suddenly you can only buy the $5000 Apple tv or the $100,000 Apple car? |

 | reply to Metatron2008 They would buy them, and then buy them again in two years when their contract is up and they can get the new iCar for only $20,000! |

 | reply to talz13 they wouldn't even wait until the 2 years is up. The next model that would come out they'd buy that too and sell the old one for the same price they paid for it. Claiming it's worth it and much more. I love searching Craigslist and eBay for random things for sale and see all the Macs on there that are iMacs (the big heavy colored ones) that are selling for $500+ with iOS 9. |

| reply to Metatron2008 They will be fans and will continue to sell each other the same products because the majority of people here have stocks in Apple. The day that stock crashes into the ground I am going to pop open a beer and enjoy the BS excuses why they are no longer sheep. Among the other BS excuses they made at the time to justify a inferior product while paying more.
In case you haven't notice...if Apple did not have this fan base the iPhone will be seen for what it really is, but because it's "cool" and "hip" to have an Apple product then people will continue to buy into such products.
With the higher price tag it also creates segregation, and those who own an iPhone feel superior towards those who don't have one thinking that they cannot afford it so it only fuels the self esteem into thinking they are special when really they are the doorknobs of society.
The only numbers they look at is the numbers that benefits them. Another point to consider is that the U.S how a large majority of religious people and it's within this same thought process of "faith" and "God's commands" that I noticed iPhone and more specially Apple lovers tend to say.
You don't question the Apple, but of course if another company were do the same exact thing then it's wrong and immoral and thing's need to be fixed, blah blah blah.
So to sum it all up....This is the type of people you are trying to speak reason with.
Extremists come in all forms, sadly in my opinion is one of them. |

TVs. I'd prefer a Sony or Sharp.
Cars. I like Toyotas and Hondas.
Apple would to make an exceptional TV or car to make me deviate from the brans I already mentioned. |

Simba7I Void Warranties join:2003-03-24 Billings, MT | reply to Metatron2008 I love it when they say that they paid $200 for a subsidized phone and sold it for $450.
It's the cost of the service that you're locked into. Let's see..
$200 for a subsidized iPhone $100 (or more) x 24 months
So, for your iPhone, you just got done paying almost $3000 for it. Now, if you're going to buy it outright (around $700), you can shove it on a prepaid plan (ST $500/yr) and actually come out ahead.
Let's see.. 700+500(2)=$1700.
So, you actually save almost $1300 if you outright buy it and slap in a ST SIM card. Still, I'd rather pay for a S3 or Note 2 than an iPhone. -- Bresnan 30M/5M | CenturyLink 5M/896K MyWS[PnmIIX3@3.3G,8G RAM,500G+1.5T+2T HDDs,Win7] WifeWS[A64@2G,2G RAM,120G HDD,Win7] Router[2xP3@1G,2G RAM,18G HDD,Allied Telesyn AT2560FX,2xDigital DE504,Sun X1034A,2xSun X4444A,SMC 8432BTA,Gentoo] |
