Re: lot of data

Wrong. Thievery is thievery

In the same way that repossessing a toy from a child when they shouldn't have it is thievery.

That's not the same thing. Theft is taking something that doesn't belong to and repossession is taking back something that does belong to you.

If that info was aggregated through appropriate means then it belongs to us.
If it wasn't, it doesn't belong to the FBI.

What are you talking about? Who's us? We don't know how, why, or if the FBI actually has this data.

See above posts.

Who's us?

Us = US citizens who paid for that information via taxes - either directly or through the cost of purchased goods.

More wrongs that are best fixed through meaningful accountability.

The first presumption to have when addressing these dilemmas is:
By default: My government must be fully accountable to me.
By default: I am not accountable to my government.

If we recognize that principle as a foundation, rational discourse is easier to come by.

As I've posted elsewhere, referring to your other posts which weren't entirely clear doesn't help your argument.

I think you're stretching.

Accountability, yes. Cracking and intruding in computer networks and then taking data and releasing it to the world isn't accountability.
