I'm not sure why you aren't getting this.
If the data was 3 TB uncompressed, then downloading it would take "forever" (well about 24 to 48 hours). If the 3 TB worth of data was compressed down to a manageable say 10 GB or something, then it would only take a few hours to download. After downloading then the data could be uncompressed at leisure. -- The Comcast Disney Avatar has been retired.
