Re: Kansas City users slow in signing up for Google Fiber

Wonder why users aren't signing up for the super fast GoogleFiber in KC?

Because the price is too high.
The public wants 10M, 20M, maybe even 50M.
But they don't want to pay $70 for it. They don't care about 1Gbps.

Verizon has proven that - only 1/3 of their customers will pay $50+ for Fios internet.

Google's TV package is lacking key features. Forcing customers to pay the $70 fiber premium to get it is insulting.

Haha!
This is a great deal from Google; it is soooo funny that you've flipped against a business and are trying to take Google to task for being too expensive! Very entertaining!

I would say that what Google offers is much better than TWC for sure. Google's shortcomings will be addressed, but TWC has yet to address their problems. Anyway, interesting!

"Much better", but not cheaper, which is what counts for the majority of subscribers. Again, look at the VZ data - they can't achieve more than 33% uptake for their "cherry-picked" "much better" service.

Google's TV package is not "better", and is very much overpriced, and the local MSO(s) will respond long enough to counter them.
