Re: really crappy

Nahhh IPhone here... whole family in fact, but my next phone will be a WP8. Not sure if it will be the Samsung or if I'll wait to see what else hits the market.

Some of Samsung's phones have had a cheap build quality.

Had a WP7 at my last job (just started with a new company) and loved it. Nice fluid well put together OS.

This is an all the eggs in a basket moment for MS. If they people dig v8, and can get the same OS on a tablet and their phone it could redefine the landscape. Apple has been trying to go this way with IOS and OSX, but isn't there yet. But, if v8 is a flop then they've got a real turd sandwich to eat.

Personally I hope they do really well. Apple and Google need the competition IMO.

OS X looks and functions nothing like iOS. They brought some iOS features to OSX but there is not the merging of the 2 like Microsoft is trying to do. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think Win 8 will be another MS BOB for them. It's a very hard and user unfriendly OS and people will be turned off by the whole dekstop vs Metro (oops, not Metro) apps.

I think MS better get the salt and pepper as the turd sandwich will need lots of it!

I really like the looks of that Ativ S. Have always been with android phones but I could convert (Just bought the S3 off ebay) for something like this. Was WP7 buggy or anything like that?

I had the Lumina 900 and had no issues. It's a bigger (larger screen) than my iPhone which I had to get used to, but other than that no... no bugs or issues. A very snappy fluid experience with a much better multi task solution.

itguy05, It may be, may not be.. only time will tell. I remember reading on multiple occasions how Apple has wanted to move to a unified OS model. But I have nothing to back it up because I don't wish to do any Google searching right now. :/
