As a woman, a liberal, a Democrat, and a feminist- I have to chime in here.
If anyone wants to watch porn that consists of consenting adults of legal age doing whatever- it's fine by me. Go for it. Have fun and enjoy.
As for prostitution, I have always felt that prostitution should be legalized, and regulated.
It would be safer for the sex workers, and for the clients. It would save taxpayer dollars that would otherwise be spent prosecuting people for a victimless "crime".
In addition, this activity could bring in tax revenue.
I also think pot should be legal, but that's a topic for another time.
So there, that blows your theory all to hell about what we liberal feminists think...

I think you hit the nail on the head what 2 consenting adults do in private paid or not is their own business regardless on how various religious organizations feel about it (and I really wish they would stay out of government because that is how we were founded on and many choose to ignore that)

You may feel that way, but a lot of feminist do in fact it should be banned because it makes women seem like nothing more than sex objects. They are the minority, but they exist, just visit a college campus to see it. |

Paradoxically, in a democracy your opinion means nothing: the majority rules. Prohibiting prostitution was one of Feminism's signature accomplishments, and pretty much every female politician tries to criminalize it harder. And along with prostitution goes porn. So while the Feminist Party will take your vote, if you think they'll listen to you, you're mistaken. What are you going to do, join the Tea Party? Your vote belongs to them just like the wife's vote belonged to her husband before suffrage. |
