1 edit | hefty regulation it's probably hefty regulation tied to the spectrum more than anything as to why Verizon never used 700mhz a & b blocks..
key provisions were the obvious deployment requirements and timeframe, but the next was to donate services over these frequencies for first responders which made the spectrum much less valueable.. however, rather than have a minority carrier earn a good reputation, it was worth it for Veizon to sit on the spectrum and not let another carrier gain any momentum... that's basically what it's all about.. when your more than twice the size of a smaller competitior-- in many cases 5 - 10x these days..
this is a failure of government to not reign in at&t and verizon.. and they will have to deal with it sooner or later.. |
