I'm more intrigued by their prepaid plans

Someone mentioned in a previous news item about $30 unlimited web/text with 100 minutes for $30. First 5GB on 4G, don't know what they throttle to, but $30 is a great deal if you don't use lots of talk minutes.

I have that plan and read somewhere that it's throttled back to Edge I think but I haven't used even 100mb of data yet so I'm not sure.
My Samsung Exhibit 4G that came with the plan only has 4G at about 4mb-5mb and Edge at around 127kb so those seem to be the only speed options.

AT&T is doing the same thing to my unlimited plan...after 3Gb I'm throttled to the point that the data plan is useless and the plan alone is more than T-Mobile charges for the entire talk/text/data prepaid package.

Time for me to start shopping.

In my area (SF) T-mobile throttles you down to 60kbps in both directions..

I talked to a friend with T-Mobile and she said they cut back to "edge" speed, about 100kbps. It's not much different than AT&T when you hit 3GB with their "unlimited" plan. The data is there but it becomes a useless trickle.
