 | why do i enter my phone number if you just ask for it again? i really would like to know. over the past month i had to call in sooo many times and everytime it wouldnt let me past the main menu without my number..fine., i enter it..then they ask me for it again..this happened on the online chat too.. you must enter it in the start. then they ask you for it again. then when i actually typed out name/address and number to copy and paste, they asked me for it a 2nd time in chat.
so why the initial phone prompt for a phone number if you just ask me for it again. it makes the company look inept to be frank.
i also got some prompts telling me my number wasnt in the sytem but thats for another post lol |

 | Support reps also do a reboot of the dsl modem, even though the automated system does that when you initially call in. |

| reply to luckydriver Heh, I have often wondered the same thing. It is irritating as hell. You would think the automated system shows the phone tech this info once it transfers you over.
I asked a WS rep this question after giving my number twice and got a vague response. The short of it was that the automated system uses this number to verify that you are a valid WS customer, but doesn't pass this info over to her. I feel this is a over site they could do without. It doesn't seem to be that big of a deal at first until you have to call them three to four times a week......... |

 | reply to luckydriver It has to do with how much effort a company puts into its phone system. It costs extra to be able to send whatever you entered to the CSR. |

| reply to luckydriver I just got off the phone, since I had to perform a hard reboot of the router and couldn't get authenticated. Same thing with the phone number... My guess is that they don't have enough bandwidth on their network to transfer the info to the call center. |
