Doesn't help with streaming services

like Netflix or HBOGo or Hulu Plus or Amazon Prime. None of them have a "download now, watch later" function as far as I know.

It's a start and puts them more competitive with Verizon's HomeFusion that gives you 30 GB for $120. Still they have along way to go.

It's a bit of a trade off. More usage compared to HomeFusion, but much more latency. So there is no clear winner.

30 GB doesn't get you much gaming when combined with your other uses too. I wouldn't game with either.

You could rig a caching proxy (start the movie at midnight, immediately pause it, the cache continues to fill, you watch the next evening).

Or, record the movie to your DVR, then watch the next day.
