This won't end well

It's obvious what's going to happen here. Everyone is going to set up large downloads during these times, so capacity is going to be strained to the breaking point.

Not a big deal. The goal is to encourage downloaders to time-shift to the unmetered window, so that interactive users can have a faster connection during the day.

Saturation at night isn't going to affect service quality for most critical customers who operate during the day.

HughesNet has done it for years. This is nothing new and nothing "bad" is going to happen because of it.

Are you sure the satellite won't get overloaded and fall from the sky? I can say after having both, WildBlue is the better of the pair for sure. I had Hughes back when they were DirecWay and stayed with them up to the end until I couldn't take it anymore and had to jump ship. WildBlue, for what it's worth, has been a definite improvement over the past three years despite their growing pains.
