The important detail for me is is a grandfathered unlimited 4g LTE smartphone that still works well when throttled after 5gig cap and still $30/ month. No shut off. No surprise fees.

Good battery life.
I'm currently paying $56/month grandpa unlimited with 200 text.
And can still stream Netflix And Slingplayer when throttled.

I don't think AT&T is killing the unlimited plan yet (for people upgrading to 4G phones). But if iphone gets LTE they won't let you keep it. You should probably buy a new phone before iphone is released.
I would recommend the htc one x.
