Re: back to reality.. Go with a proper BYOD provider and bring a good phone on board. Page Plus uses Verizon's network and is pretty much full BYOD short of 4G devices, VZW Prepaid phones, and iDevices. And for ~$55/mo you get Unl talk/text and 2GB data. I'm currently sporting a Droid with this plan and loving it. Planning to pick up a D3 at some point. Both phones are dead simple to bring on to their service. Add ESN online and dial *228 on the phone, done.
Finding phones, I suggest Swappa: »swappa.com/ Specifically tailored towards Android devices and I've found the prices people are selling them for are a lot less than some of the bigger stores and in much better shape.
