Re: Is it Net Losses Across the Whole Industry? said by pnh102:Another poster mentioned that if you did subtraction there was a net loss of 125k subscribers from pay TV services in general.
IMO this is still a significant number. Definitely not as significant as 400k, but still significant. Traditional cable TV providers alone have around 57 million subs. See: »www.ncta.com/Statistics.aspx
Looking at channel subscription stats, the pay TV market is north of 100m subscriptions in the US. See: »www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/c-s···k_b24132
So say it really is 125k subs lost. Are you saying that an impact of less than 0.125% is really that significant? Even if it were 400k, we're still looking at less than one half of one percent. |

The pay TV market is saturated and with prices going up, these companies are going to continue to slowly bleed customers away.
Perhaps there is a "sweet spot" where having fewer customers paying a lot of money is better than having many customers paying a little bit of money, but I see this more as a "balls to the wall" moment for the pay TV racket, there is nowhere to go but down from here. -- Romney 2012 - Put an adult in charge. |
