I've a gen1 ATV. No Hulu on it... Checked for software updates, none available...though I've not tried to just reboot it.
So will try that and see. In readings, I've not seen where gen1 are excluded, but imagine that's the case. Ah well...early adopters...

I checked software updates first as well and found nothing ... all that was needed was the reboot and then it showed up.

Rebooted this weekend (which in itself is painful as there's no menu shutdown nor power button, so I just unplug it [gulp])...
...and no Hulu option on the ATV g1 menu.
Ah well

Netflix+Hulu Plus+iTunes for the rest or best and you're looking at $30-40 a month for media access, compared to $70-80 for cable. At the moment, we've dropped Hulu Plus and just are a year behind everything, catching it all on Netflix. I buy AMC shows on iTunes as they air.
I don't get live sports, but with the money I save, I go to a local sports bar and get a beer or two and still come out ahead on the bill. The major problem is HBO, as the only options are to be a year behind, to subscribe to HBO+Cable (outrageously expensive if the only reason is to get HBO) or pirate.

If I could get HBO Go without cable I'd be tempted. I've been watching a number of old series that I must've missed when they first aired on standard HBO. Paying for AMC, HBO and Teen Mom  on iTunes, at $2 or $3 an episode, could really add up. |
