I think Apple has to get the phone out quickly, regardless. Given their recent earnings miss, they can't afford to delay too much.

And getting an LTE iPhone out there soon, now that Verizon, AT&T, & Sprint are all going to be pushing their LTE service. If they delay an LTE iPhone much longer they will lose a lot of sales this Christmas season.
