[Other] Price diff between service areas? Watertown, MA

Hey guys, I've noticed the massive price difference between rcn service areas and was wondering why this happens. For example a 75Mbps connection is only $49.99 in Philadelphia, 79.99 in MA and a crazy almost double the price in NY. Equipment fees show the same but switched around with the lowest service price areas paying more for equipment. Is it something to do with the state/taxes or amount of users?
