 | Any Free Functional Spyware Protection Proggy's Available Seems like all the good free version spyware software no longer has real-time protection available. It's demoware not freeware IMO. I just need something on my laptop,Windows 7 32-bit, no Mcafee or Symantec memory hogs. Thanks! |

| The only 2 I'd look at then would be Avast or Microsoft's own A/V if you want an A/V.
As you are specific to spyware, wouldn't just blocking 3rd party cookies at the browser help enough too? Also something like Hostsman, Proxomitron or other such filtering either script or blacklisting type filters?

 | I guess Anti-Spyware software like Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware and AdAware, use to be functionaly complete except users had to manually update them, no big deal. Now they install their software advertised as free, but it doesn't give you protected service, it's cripple-ware disguised as adequate protection. Kind of like a free condom with a hole on both ends, it's useless. |

So when did you know them to be free and full function ? |
|
 | Well I used AdAware when it first came out and Malwarebytes. I put Superantispyware on my dad's laptop and it had real-mode until recently. Just trying to find something that's functional. I have avast and it is fully functional. I'll keep trying some of the "free" spyware programs. |

| reply to GTPlayer threatfire? spyware terminator, they have since changed owners, but I remember the HIPS to be great. Comodo firewall has a defense + mode........Honestly I would just purchase a key for Mbam and be done with it.
Mbam plus a good A/V is all you need. |
