[Services] Third party blocks

Posting for girlfriend. Seems ATT won't help with 3rd party frauds. There were charges on her bill from 3rd party scam, possibly caused by a hack. This caused her account used for phone/dsl to over draw and eventually loose her service. She has been ATT customer for years yet they won't help her get these charges deleted. She's called, I've called (authorized) with no help..they just say "send us $xx.xx to resume service. She had third party block yet was charged hundreds of dollars for a Internet Money scam. I need her on line as we work together on an art enterprise. This is how ATT resolves trouble with a service they supposedly provide? At the risk of getting rude, I stop here. ATT bad.

I know I am going to sound a bit antiquated but, there was (in the front of the phone book) supposedly info on cramming and such.

At most supposedly all they (billing office) can do is "suspend" them for a brief time, it doesn't eliminate the charges, it just holds them. The 3rd party would still have to be contacted, or authorities would still have to be contacted.

if the girlfriend wants I can work on this have her email me at helprequest at sbcglobal dot net, and thanks ahead of time.

Your landline phone service cannot be disconnected for these kinds of charges, at least in Illinois. Not sure what Ohio regulators do about it.

I've never had a problem getting fraudulent charges removed and I suspect there is more to this story than you are telling or your girlfriend is telling you.

What do you mean by "over draw"?

@frontiernet.net

She got charged for one of those make money on the internet. Lots of charges she claims she didn't 'buy'. I didn't think they could shut her down for third part charges. The 'Lady' at ATT told her it was legal. I know Frontier, and verizon will take them off your bill. She has dedicated account for land lne and dsl. They took near $200 bucks out in 02-12. Overdrawn with unauthorized charges. She spends relying on her land line/dsl charges of 29.95 ONLY. This is all I know. And she never received the program (dvd). I'm thinkin someone hacked her wirless. She is too nice to Unreliable Crooks. Has couple goof balls hanging around also. Sooooo, that's the story..Gone to notify PUCO and fraud state cops.
