Re: How about expanding? This. This. and This.
To hell with you comcast. How about Atlanta, you know, the city that's supposed to be one of the most "wired" cities....bullshit. Atlanta you got 2 options: DSL or Comcast cable. That's it. Period. This country is a joke, there is no competition. Our congress are bought and paid for by companies like Comcast. Comcast doesn't want competition. Verizon stopped laying down Fios....why? Because its expensive and they don't want to compete with Comcast or others.
If Comcast cared, they would introduce these high speeds (with no real caps mind you) in places like Atlanta....but that aint EVER going to happen. Never.
As a side note....I noticed that the areas where Verizon has Fios availability, seem to be mainly in "blue" states. Interesting. Places in mainly "red" states are stuck with either the cable monopolies or DSL. The progressive states seem to actually have more options. And here I was thinking that "red" states were for "competition" and the "consumer"....yeah, as evidenced by the "red" congressman, they are two faced.

ps, notice the places where it says "future development"....how can there be when Verizon said themselves they are stopping rollouts? America....where you get an illusion of choice...George Carlin was 100% right. |

 | You mean they wired my city through huge tax subsidies? There is nothing but monopolies in our country. Anyone with half an IQ point knows that. These companies are lazy. They are just like Ma Bell. I am old enough to remember them. You "modern" republican's seem to forget that your patron saint Reagan dismantled the Phone Company. This is turning into exactly like that, but instead of a national company, it's just little fiefdoms scattered around, each not wanting or letting competition in. The whole point for us to have capitalism is for everyone getting a chance, not this corporate socialism which you republican's believe in.
If you had been paying attention, you would have noticed that the big companies like Comcast and Verizon were SIGNING agreements NOT to compete against each other.....is that capitalism? No, it's not. It's fiefdoms. Without competition, there is no purpose for them to make things better. And that is WHY we chose capitalism, because it's supposed to benefit us. If it doesn't benefit the people, then whats the point of supporting it? So what we have is companies buying more companies and becoming monopolies. That is not how this is supposed to work. We need government (yeah yeah, cliche cliche :gubment is bad m'kay:) to regulate these companies in a way that gives rise to competition, not stagnates. That is the whole point to government: regulation. Without regulation we are just like Somalia. |

If you had been paying attention, you would have noticed that the big companies like Comcast and Verizon were SIGNING agreements NOT to compete against each other. Comcast and other cable companies did not get tax subsidies. You are confusing them with telcos.
Comcast & Verizon did not sign a no compete agreement. They signed a marketing agreement. You are listening too much to Karl's paranoid beliefs. -- »www.mittromney.com/s/repeal-and-···bamacare »www.mittromney.com/issues/health-care |

 | Did you read the article that you linked to?
ATT: 14B Verizon: 12B. Comcast: 2B.
Seems he was right in general. And there are a lot of reasons during a recession that tax writeoffs are generated, including the stock options plan which seems to apply to all companies. |
