A lot more capital would be needed to have the coverage that Verizon has. Right now Sprint is maybe 1/3 of what Verizon and AT&T have.

Some phones already have SMR support. Some don't. Obviously not upgradable unless it's an SMR phone that has SMR disabled in software.
