 | reply to BF69 I barely hit 300 minutes for work and personal use. I don't give out my number and anyone at work is forbidden to give out my number as well. Some customers get rather irate when I refuse to give them my cell phone number. If you let everyone under the sun have your cell phone number you can never get a break from it all. -- I do not, have not, and will not work for AT&T/Comcast/Verizon/Charter or similar sized company. |

Most people I need to communicate with I do by text. |

| reply to BF69 Personally I don't find texts very useful for anything other than "I'm almost there" or "Pick up some milk on your way home" type messages. I can say more with a 20 second phone call than I can with a dozen text messages.
My minute usage has remained fairly constant throughout the years. It has gone up and down as life events (dating, marriage, job searches, being on the road) have occured but technological advances haven't really had much of an impact as far as I can tell.
I have tailored my phone habits fairly well to the "N&W" cellular model though. Ever since my very first cell phone I've been able to get away with the cheapest plan offered by whichever provider I was with at the time. It's a pity there is no similiar option for data; phones could be programmed to pull app dates during off-peak hours and the data hogs could go wild when they wouldn't be impacting anybody else. |

The best way to get my attention is via a concise email followed up by a voice call when I'm not in a tunnel or a meeting. -- --Standard disclaimers apply.-- The preceding posting is null and void in Arizona and any other jurisdiction where prohibited by law. |

 | reply to AVD I am not interested in being called 24/7/365 because someone is too lazy to follow support procedures. Once you give your direct contact information out the majority of end users will bypass all established procedures. We have this happen all the time where an end user will call back some tech or sales person after hours and it takes them 4 times as long as if they had called our support line. -- I do not, have not, and will not work for AT&T/Comcast/Verizon/Charter or similar sized company. |
