| [DVR] Mototola 6416 III Software Update I have had two software updates in the last week. The version this morning ended with Software Version 78.58 A28.0-6.r-2 Firmware 16.90.
I havent seen much change yet, No interface changes or TWC stuff added yet. Good news is 30 sec skip still works. -- Intel I7-930 2.80GHz, X58A-UD3R Mobo, G.Skill 6GB Triple Channel Ram, XFX 250 Video, 5 VelociRaptors Running Raid 5, Windows 7 Home Premium x64, |

I havent seen much change yet, No interface changes or TWC stuff added yet. Good news is 30 sec skip still works. The Pace boxes were updated as well. A couple changes that I noticed... There is now an option to group recorded TV programs on the DVR into folders. The S-Video output on the Pace box no longer sends out the same format. Previously, if you output an HD signal via S-Video, all you had to do was stretch the picture to receive a perfectly proportioned widescreen image (worked perfectly for dubbing HD programming to DVD in a viewable WS format). Now, the S-Video output outputs to a format that instead of requiring stretching, requires zooming. Interestingly, the zooming only stretches the image to the top and bottom and does not cut off the left and right sides of the image. It seems to still work for dubbing purposes, though I'm not convinced the image looks quite as good as before. I'll need some time to inspect more closely.
If I encounter anything else this evening, I'll post an update... |

 | reply to Matt_31 There are a few more DVR options added now. There's a "Cleanup" option where you can delete multiple recordings simultaneously. A DVR History which apparently shows you what you've deleted recently. DVR Setup gives you options to turn DVR Folders, Live Program Notice (to remind you to extend live recordings), and DVR Clipping (Clips up to 5 minutes from the start of a show if it avoids a conflict) on and off.
In the power-off user-settings there is now an "auto pillarbox" setting that forces pillarboxing on non-HD programming (black pillars from the cable box instead of those provided by the TV set to 4:3 mode).
Another thing I was noticing was that when I typed in a 3 digit channel it was taking a long time for the box to recognize it and tune to the channel. I just figured out why. Apparently, there's a 4 digit channel, 2500, that's been added. There's no programming, no information, it's just there... Bizarre. |

4 edits | All of my DVR boxes have been updated with the new I Guide features. I am also current on firmware on my DCX3400 which has fixed the HDMI hand shaking issues I had where the box would revert to its default settings each time I turned off my AV receiver.
I think what will be happening is a major channel map change coming soon which is why they have added Ch 2500. TW across the river in Cincinnati has HD ch's in the 1000 range. |

 | reply to Matt_31 It would help when people are posting new features and such, to incude the box your using, the SW/FW versions so we can start to figure out what the common thread is on changes. |

Well, I only mentioned that the Pace boxes were updated as well because I have a Pace box. I don't know the model. It's not one of the whole house deals... I can check on that and the SW/FW later this evening though. |

| Ane new features with that? What I'm hoping for is this:
SW x.xx FW x.xx
Features Added:
XXXXXXX
Bugs Fixed:
XXXXXX
Things Broken:
xxxxxx
Since TWC said it wouldent be till the summer of 2012 before they would start messing with things and adding stuff. It will help see what is comming and if there is a trend between a local office or hardware. Similar to how DirecTV or Dish userboards track stuff. |

| said by rjbasye:How long until TW junks all of the Pace boxes? probably not soon! If they are updating the iGuide version on these boxes likely they will just upgrade you guys to the R29 version of iGuide eventually once they get a PACE version finished for those boxes.
My TWC division just got StartOver/Lookback on iGuide along with Caller id on TV on the motorola boxes that are not whole DVR which those boxes run the tru2way version of Navigator. |

rjbasye join:2000-05-24 Dry Ridge, KY | I'm surprised they didn't go with R29 of the I guide with our last update. Insight has 78.58. The 24.35 firmware has worked great on my DCX 3400 and has fixed the HDMI handshake issue of settings not sticking that I had with version 22.35. |

I am happy to have "folders" though that's one thing I really liked about UVerse when I had it. |

| reply to Matt_31 Ok I am tossing my hat in:
S/W Ver: 78.58-A28.0-6.r-2 Firmware: 24.35
DCX3400 DVR
Woke up to no clock on the DVR, thus how I knew something must of happened overnight. I haven't found any bugs yet...
DVR Recordings now have Folders is the only difference I see |

I was kind of hoping that the update would actually fix that bug. I guess not. |
