Where to look for best deal in internet only Xfinity in MA?

We are cutting cable TV service package we have with RCN and going internet only (baby on the way, so no time for TV).
Are there any sites that track offers from Xfinity? Looking to move to basic cable internet package from Xfinity. I am in Somerville, MA.

I think your best bet it to imply call Comcast and tell them you are shopping around and want to know what kind of incentives they are offering. I was with RCN for years; they had great service but expensive, up to almost $250/mo but included 50MB Internet. I called Comcast to shop and was absolutely shocked they offered everything I had but with Blast 30MB (w/HBO, Showtime) at $129/mo for 1 year.

Early this month my bill jumped to $200 as the 1 year offer expired. I called to ask for a better deal and it was not until I asked to cancel my service was I transferred to someone that gave me the same $129 offer for another year. It really pays to shop around. Here in DC RCN is pushing $39 for basic cable and 20MB Internet, with 50MB for another $10/mo. But premium channels jack up the price.

Ive gotten my best deals by going to Best Buy and chatting up the Comcast guy there. Much better than calling.

Well that might be a reason to visit Best Buy once in a blue moon

You will always get a better deal by going through a 3rd party like comcastoffers.com or Best Buy. The reason is because they get a fairly large kickback for referring you to Comcast, which they usually pass on in part to you in the form of a free modem, router etc. Once your information is submitted to Comcast, you can sign up for any of their normal packages.

BTW, at least in Cambridge basic cable is only $8/month and you save $10/month by bundling internet and TV

Re: By the way

Regarding basic cable for Cambridge, it's a great price. However the next town to Cambridge which is Arlington the Price is 20 something.

·Comcast

Talk to the guy in the Comcast Shirt. In my store hes got his own setup near the HD tvs. In my area I had blast for 29.99 with no penalty for not having Tv. Just tell him what ya want and youll get it.. promise.. I just switched to Triple play with everything but Cmax 1 Dvr ans 3 Hd boxes, Blast internet and the Emta for 119.99 he even waived all the box fees. 1 year deal no contract

The OP is trying to save money. 29.99 for soon to be 50Mb service. They even offer 16/2 or whatever that package is now for 19.99. Thats way cheaper than 119 for 85Mb. Just sayin
