 | I was told this when I switched pricing. No promo offers anymore. -- dream your dreams with open eyes and make them come true... |

 | reply to KoRnGtL15 All I know is if Charter does not give me the 30/4 $29.99 promo as soon as my $19.99 15/3 promo is up next month I'm going to be switching to UVerse because the regular price for the grandfathered 15/3 is $47.99/mo and I can get a much better deal on a comparable download speed from UVerse.

BF69Premium join:2004-07-28 Camden, TN | Let me tell you about u-verse, their regular prices are worse than Charter. So I guess you'll be coming back to Charter when you U-verse promo ends. Charter has been extending my promo for years now. Sometimes without me even asking. At&T will not do that for you. I know that for 100% fact. When you're promo is over it's over.
Normal 18 meg is $53 a month. Regular 12 meg is $48 a month. That is if you can get either. I can't get 18 meg even though I live less than 1 1/4 miles from a CO. 200 feet closer and I could get 18 meg. That's dumb. At least with Charter EVERYONE can get the top speed if they want it. |
|
 | Yes I would be going back to Charter once the promo is up, just switch back and fourth as necessary. Kinda dumb the system is setup this way. Woulden't it be cheaper for the company in the long run to leave the customer on a promo than to send out a tech for a new install every other year? (when I cancel a service I remove everything that was installed including the drop, so that's a new run every other year.)
I can def get the full 24mbps uverse as i am around 100 ft from the neighborhood "HUB". Wish CAT5 could just be ran to it and get 100/100. I should inquire about how much business ethernet would be being this close to a point of fiber. -- CompTIA Network+ Certified |

Heck in March they dropped my rate for 30 meg from $40 to $30 and also gave me a credit for Jan and February of $20. And I never asked for that. |

I agree. People with multiple DVRs are definitely getting a deal with the new pricing.
Anyways I did the math on what I'd pay for my TV package under the old pricing if I wasn't on promo and what I'd pay under the new pricing and I'd save $20 a month. Somehow to some people that's getting ripped off. I disagree. |

|
 | I do kindly request that they remove it but they never show up. As a home owner I do not wish for there to be unnecessary wires hanging overhead. The AT&T lines are buried, if Charter would like to do the same I'd leave them be. -- CompTIA Network+ Certified |

| reply to KoRnGtL15 I remodeled the outside of my house. I removed the AT&T drop and the demarcation box. I wound up the 75 foot wire and hooked it on the fence directly below the tap. I am not putting a wire and demarc box on my new siding when I don't use AT&T for DSL or phone anymore.
As far as I am concerned, their failure to remove the equipment from my property is called abandonment.
When you get the service, they charge for the install or characterize it as "free". It matters not if they like the removal of the equipment or not. They need to show actual monetary harm. |

| reply to TheTechGuru For business MetroE just for 10/10 service you are looking at around $1,500 a month so I would say for a 100/100 circuit you are looking at around $3,500 a month give or take. just an FYI on the MetroE even though it sounds like it would be cheap and easy it is nothing like a business Cable Modem account price wise... |

 | reply to KoRnGtL15 Sat companies like to do the same. Just leaving their stuff. Recently my landlord removed 5 Sats, he had even called and asked if they wanted to pick them up but they would rather just make new sats rather then pick up old ones. I took 2 of them for a project I had been planning. |

 | reply to KoRnGtL15 go to Charter Direct Forum. They found extra deals on top on my great deal I already had.
I always have had a deal with Charter since 1999. |

| reply to KoRnGtL15 This forced me to switch from Charter Telephone to Vonage. It's like $9.99 for first 3 months ($15.52 first time payment and taxes) then $25.99 a month after that.
This has to be done quick for me because I just signed up with promo and I have around 3 more days to back out of charter promo before I get termination charges.
You can transfer your current charter number (takes up to 10 days).
Lowering my 100Meg to 30meg and minimal cable package.
I will save around $160 because I currently pay $280 a month!!!!
This sucks this has to happen but I'm tired of all these charter changes.
Hopefully you guys will get your stuff worked out also. Good luck! |

I always have had a deal with Charter since 1999. That's odd, because according to more than one dbag in retentions no promos unless you're a new customer or you add a service.
They don't want to budge on the prices. They're nuts, I already don't like having them for two services why would I want to have them for three, which will only serve to jack the price. The "NEW" Charter promo policy, as I know it, sucks and is going to cost them a good share of customers, most of my neighbors aren't happy. |
