 | what is the real reason for data capping?!? call me a conspiracy theorist. but all this emphasis on putting extremely low caps on 3G/4G/LTE internet usage and wired usage sounds pretty 1984ish..
why are ISPs and even cellular providers all in a made rush to outdo each other in the fastest network and tiers, when at the same time they are ratcheting down on how much data users can have in a month??
with the billions in revenue that these providers make each month, why are they all hellbent in clamping down on how much data we want to use??
is there some kinda backdoor policy that China has bought up our infrastructure and made demands to the FCC and all internet providers to put a choke hold on our data consumption???
I mean WTF?!? with all the money they are raking in, why not just upgrade their networks and infrastructure?? |

 | reply to Linklist They are upgrading the speeds, but not upgrading their backend to support more data from more users. |

 | Assumption that takes a crap on your bias?
You don't have to upgrade when you severely limit what goes through your pipes. There is no incentive when they clamp down like this. It would be a complete waste for them to be upgrading backend under these circumstances.
So do you think they are wasting money that they don't have to? |

 | Neither do you, but when looking at all that is laid before us, your assumption is laughable at best.
It is obvious that caps are to:
1. Protect cable tv revenue 2. Keep "upgrades" to a bare minimum
You know this, but are playing coy for whatever reason you think is funny. I hope no one can be that ignorant to what is going on around them. |
