| (Lion) "Preview" multi page scanning freezes I recently upgraded to Lion. I use my HP 5610 multi function printer a lot to scan documents to send via email. It has worked fine even with a multi page document. Now after Lion, if I scan 1 page it works. But, after that, Preview freezes up and beach balls. I have to "force quit" to get away from it. I need to scan a 5 page document today to send to a bank. I tried all I can think of. Removing the printer, and reinstalling, re-download software, and a few reboots of the computer and unplugging the printer a few times. Nothing works. Any ideas? |

| Perhaps it has to do with the "upgrade" to Lion? I have read several places where an upgrade can break some things, while a fresh install of Lion does not.
I run Lion on a new iMac. I use an HP OfficeJet 4500 printer/scanner. It has a doc feeder, and I regularly scan multiple-page documents without a problem (100% paperless here). I use PDFScanner from the app store though, not preview. PDFScanner allows two-sided docs to be scanned in easily, re-ordering pages appropriately, by feeding the stack in twice, once for each side, and Drag&Drop to easily order the pages.

Teasip join:2001-05-14 Plano, TX | reply to Dominokat My HP3310 doesn't play nice either anymore (years) so as a result I'm stuck on an outdated firmware version for my AE and using VueScan to be able to scan. Never did figure out if it was HP or Apple to blame. It's just another reason for sticking with SL as well as my old black MB C2D ('06 Quicken also). |

| reply to Dominokat I may need to "DOWNGRADE" since critical things I need are broken with Lion. The scanner (worked fine with Leopard) My accounting program (Although they updated to work on Lion, it still has issues) and other smaller issues I have found since upgrading to Lion. |

Now I just tried using my Adobe Photoshop Elements. Worked fine before the "upgrade" and now I get this message. Screw Lion.... When I have time I am going "backwards" in my OS. I am a bit pissed now...... |
