Re: [Connectivity] Can't get to one site, Comcast won't help

And the numeric IP brings up, »pearsonmylabandmastering.com/students/
rather than the URL the OP asked about.
I think the problem is at the other end, with multiple sites sharing an IP, a frequent problem at ISP's pushing cheap, virtualized "domains"

In this case it's sites are all part of Pearson Higher Education INC.

Thanks for all the replies.

Going to the site via IP does not work.

The site can not be pinged.

If it's on the other end, how do we resolve it? And why do some Comcast connections work and some don't?

Sorry for the questions, just trying to figure out what's going on.

Thanks everyone.

Virtual domains can't be reached by IP alone.

Not unusual, making ping and ICMP traceroute something that can't be fully relied upon.

The reason it works for some and not others is that we all do not share the same routing to the same destination.

Time will resolve it eventually. In the meantime try using a proxy server, the routing will be different.
